Oman Shapoorji Company LLC (OSCO) was set up in July, 1975 to participate in the nation’s economic renaissance and contribute to the burgeoning construction activity.

In addition the company has a technical collaboration with our associates Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Limited (SPCL) who are one of India’s leading construction companies and were also the builders of the Qasr Al Alam Palace Complex for His Majesty. SPCL aids in recruitment of highly skilled labour and engineers, and in procurement of specialised materials.

The management of the company is headed by the Managing Director who is a Civil Engineer with over four decades of experience in high quality building construction and is assisted by a Chief Operating Officer and two General Managers. Most members of the senior management team have been with the company since inception. The company also employs Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Supervisors, Non-technical staff and over 4000 workers.

Since its inception in 1975, OSCO has constructed some of the finest landmarks in Muscat - the Municipality Building, the Securities Market, the Cabinet Building, the Majlis Al-Daullah Building (formerly the Tender Board Building), the Sahwa Tower, etc - and in other parts of the country for the government (Diwan of Royal Court, Municipality, Ministry of Defence, etc) and the private sector. OSCO’s varied construction projects include commercial buildings, government ministries, educational institutions, housing complexes, hotels and resorts, factories, private villas, health centres, army camps, airforce and naval bases, monuments, mosques, shopping malls and foodcourts.

We have built one of the single largest housing projects at Al-Khodh, Oman, comprising of 1000 houses with complete infrastructure works for the Ministry of Social Affairs & Labour. We have also recently completed a Royal Villa Palace Project for the Royal Court Affairs amounting to R.O.43 million.

OSCO also has a Facility Management Division which provides services such as operation and maintenance services for civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics & instrumentation works and housekeeping & cleaning services for Muscat Palace Complex and Associated Properties consisting of more than 160 Buildings since 1975, Palace Complex at Bait Al Barakah, Bait Al Mamurah Palace at Salalah, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Private Sector, etc. The Facility Management Division is headed by one of the General Managers.

OSCO also has an in-house MEPI (Mechanical, Electrical, Processing and Instrumentation) Division which provides complete services/solutions for Mechanical (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing & Instrumentation for Buildings, Infrastructure Works, Hospitals, Hotels, Industries and Oil & Gas Sector.

OSCO’s Quality Systems have been accredited to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 – for Construction of Buildings, Roads, Marine and Civil Engineering Works; Civil Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Installation and Maintenance; Housekeeping & Cleaning Services.

OSCO has its own facilities at Ghala, with a separate housing complex for its staff, and labour camp/garage/stores/carpentry workshop and tile plant.
